Incorporated in 1986, the Shelter for Abused Women & Children is the only state certified domestic violence center in Collier County, Florida, and serves victims of domestic violence in Naples, Marco Island, Immokalee, Bonita Springs and all points in-between.

Our vision is a community without domestic violence so that every home is a safe haven for the family it shelters.

Currently, the Shelter operates:

  • Naples office that features our 60-bed shelter, on-site kennel, counseling offices and administrative offices
  • Immokalee Outreach Office providing counseling services in Immokalee
  • Options Thrift Shoppe at 968 Second Avenue North, Naples
  • Another Option – set to open in 2008 at 5239 Golden Gate Parkway, Naples

Current Positions Available

Floater

Does part-time to you seem like full-time? Consider becoming a Floater for the Shelter for Abused Women & Children! We will send you through training to become a domestic violence advocate, and during those times when we need extra staff coverage, we will call you to see if you are available to work. There is no guarantee of hours, and there is no commitment on your part…if you can not work when we call, just say no. If you can work, you’ll have a few extra bucks! All interested candidates must pass a background check and must pass core competency training, provided by the Shelter for Abused Women & Children, to be eligible for this position. Grants Contract Administrator

Responsible for providing general support to the Director of Programs. Work in accordance with SAWCC, FDACV and grant requirements assisting the Director of Programs with daily operations of the Program Departments including; data management and reporting of service deliveries to ensure participants needs, program goals, and contract objectives and deliverables are effectively met; and provide any necessary assistance related to staff and management training in support of reporting software application & minimum standard policies, procedures & protocol application & development.

Must demonstrate technical savvy and database interface experience. Must possess excellent organizational, time management, teamwork, report writing, technical writing, and analytical skills. Ability to meet deadlines, take initiative and accomplish objectives is a must. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Training staff on database software to ensure accurate recording & tracking of critical data.
  • Generating monthly statistics on all services provided.
  • Creating and maintaining internal tools used to analyze statistics.
  • Conducting regular internal audits to assure our program staff are meeting inner agencies expectations.  Maintaining all master forms used by program staff.
  • Updating and create policies, procedures and protocols in accordance with minimum standards.
