Shelter Celebrates 4th Annual Apple Pie Day at Options

Naples, FL – The Shelter for Abused Women & Children will commemorate the generosity of the late Jack and Lue Harris by hosting the fourth annual Apple Pie Day, a birthday celebration, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., Wednesday, April 25, 2007, at Options Thrift Shoppe, 968 Second Avenue North, Naples.

According to Options Store Manager Karen Balzano, "Apple Pie Day is our way of remembering the generosity of the Harris' both for their countless hours of volunteer service and for their benevolent financial gift that provided the Shelter with the resources to purchase the Options Thrift Shoppe building." She continues, "Apple pie was Jack's favorite dessert so we find it only fitting that we celebrate his birthday, April 25, by sharing apple pie with our valued Options customers."

Option's Apple Pie Day, Wednesday, April 25, will include:

  • 3 p.m. — Birthday Apple Pie Ceremony
Remarks by Options Thrift Shoppe Manager Karen Balzano recognizing the efforts of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jack Harris (the meaning behind Apple Pie Day)
  • Cutting of the birthday apple pie
3 p.m. to 5 p.m. — Apple Pie celebration with pie for all Options Thrift Shoppe customers
