One hundred percent of the proceeds generated by the store are used to fund the services offered by the Shelter. This money represents an amazing one-third of the Shelter's annual operating expenses.

Options offers a selection of high quality, gently used furniture, rugs, linens, household goods, small appliances and televisions, women's and men's clothing (including designer labels), shoes, jewelry, and accessories. All the merchandise is donated by generous people in our community and by local merchants. Smart shoppers from around the country come to Options to find bargains and to support the Shelter.

Opened on Saturday, February 9, 2008, Another Option Thrift Shoppe is the Shelter for Abused Women & Children's second thrift shop.

Another Option Thrift Shoppe is located at 5239 Golden Gate Parkway, 1-1/2 miles East of Santa Barbara Blvd. in the new Park East Plaza just behind Riverside Bank. The store features clothing, shoes and accessories, as well as some furniture and home accents.

Together, Options Thrift Shoppe and Another Option Thrift Shoppe are a vital part of the services we provide. In addition to raising money to support the Shelter's services, the shops serve as department stores for our clients.

Another Option interior - clothingMany women come to the Shelter with nothing but the clothing on their backs. Sometimes that's a hospital gown. Every woman who has a need is given a gift certificate at no cost to select what she needs to start a new life, free from domestic violence. In this way, women are treated with dignity and have the opportunity to shop for their preferences and sizes.

Although both stores are managed by employees, we couldn't operate them without the dedication of our volunteers. Volunteers serve as sales clerks and department managers. Behind the scenes, they accept donations; sort and price merchandise; arrange beautiful displays; and help with all kinds of repairs and maintenance.

If you would like to volunteer at Options or Another Option. . . please visit our Volunteering page.Options Thrift Store
