At the Shelter for Abused Women & Children,
we are extremely grateful for the ongoing support

change for thousands of victims of domestic violence
every year.

Volunteer Orientation & Tour Schedule
We invite you to tour the Shelter for Abused Women & Children and learn more about our organization and volunteer opportunities. Please allow 60 minutes for the orientation and tour. Group size is limited. To RSVP, and for directions, please call 239-775-3862, ext. 235.

The following are some of the opportunities we
have for volunteers:
Certified Advocate Aides
- Hotline Counselors
- Aides are needed to answer the 24-hour crisis line (239-775-1101), provide support and peer empowerment, and resources to individuals who call. (Dates and times vary).
- Children in the Shelter
- Volunteers are needed to assist with childcare duties when adult program participants attend support groups, seminars, and art therapy. (Tuesdays from 5 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. and/or 6:45 p.m. to 8 p.m.)
- Immokalee Outreach
- Individuals are wanted to assist our outreach
advocates in the Immokalee office with various
duties. Spanish speaking is required. (Monday - Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.; call 239-657-5700).
Office Assistance
Whether you can give a little time
or
a lot,
you can help! |
- General Office
- Variety of special projects, small tasks and on-going work is available. Projects may include filing, copying, stuffing envelopes, data entry, office support, research, sorting donations, organizing closets, etc. This is a great way to support survivors of domestic violence and not be involved with direct service. (Monday - Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; at your convenience).

Options Thrift Shoppe
- Pricing, organizing, and
sorting merchandise for resale are just some of the opportunities available for volunteers at our resale store.

968 Second Avenue North. (Monday - Saturday; call 239-434-7115).
Holiday Helpers
- Beginning in October, volunteers are needed to help provide community awareness during National Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Support is also needed during the month of December to assist with holiday donations, donation delivery, and wrapping presents.
Donation Coordinators
- Volunteers are needed to transport, collect, organize
and distribute toys, books, clothing, cosmetics,
and food.
Be Salon
- Individuals who have expertise in massage,
hair, makeup, and more are needed to provide services to our resident program participants. If you have a skill you would
like to
share, we’d love to hear about it!
