Incorporated in 1986, The Shelter for Abused Women & Children is the only state certified domestic violence center in Collier County, Florida, and serves victims of domestic violence in Naples, Marco Island, Immokalee, Bonita Springs and all points in-between.

Current Positions Available:
Overnight On Call Emergency Shelter Advocate The Emergency Shelter Advocates provide empowerment-based advocacy, counseling, emergency assistance and support for victims of domestic violence in accordance with statewide laws and shelter policies and procedures. Responsible for answering the crisis hotline providing empowerment-based crisis counseling, guidance, emotional support, information, and referrals. Provides services to eligible individuals regardless of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, age, mental or physical disability, sexual orientation, citizenship, immigration status, marital status, or language spoken. Must be able to work 12 hour overnight shifts and complete the required training hours to obtain and maintain privilege through FCADV. Duties include case management, advocacy, counseling, crisis management, goal setting, educating, referrals, teamwork, report writing, computer inputting, managing multiple priorities, assessing lethality of each survivor's situation, assisting survivors with safety plan (development & implementation), providing information on the dynamics of domestic violence, provide empowerment-based counseling (face-to-face and/or via telephone) in either individual or group settings, and providing assistance in filing for restraining orders, injunctions, protective orders, immigration, and other petitions. Support, assist, and advocate for victims at any stage in the criminal justice system.
